Rascal Jack

Even though our pictures won't show this boy being a 'rascal', that is a part of his name.

He has favorite toys - one of the stick ones he will go and find and pull so it drags behind him until he figures out where you are so he can get you to play - games with a friend are always more fun! When he's done playing, he will take the toy back to his hiding place, under the futon - but just until the next time he wants you to play.

After an exciting game, a nap might be in order.

Sometimes he's up to a game of tug-of-war or leading you around the house as he carries one end in his mouth. He's an inventive fellow.

RJ has learned that he gets treats when he sits in the begging chair (certain one) - and he'll sit up on his hind legs and take it gently from your fingers! No picture of that yet but the foster is working on it.

He loves the bathtub - it's a good place to hang out apparently.

First of the a.m. conversations are good but he has a very quiet meow so you have to pay attention and tummy rubs sometimes.

And, of course, good windows to look outside.

It looks as if a measured amount of food might be good too - a little less than he is getting now!

Sienna

Here's a pretty girl who came to us from another shelter where she got to eat as much as she wanted - now she's on a diet!

Sienna is dealing well with her diet, she gets a set amount of food measured out in the a.m. and p.m. and doesn't beg between times.

She loves to play. The 5 yr. old granddaughter will run through the house holding a fishing pole toy with the string trailing behind and Sienna goes chasing after to try to catch it. She also will let her pick her up and when she gets tired of that she'll just shift her weight and slide out of her arms.

Sienna loves to play chase with a cat pal of hers too - Duke. No pictures of him yet, he is an orange tabby.

Her foster says she has beautiful green eyes -

Sienna is very social. She'd be a great family cat where there were children and adults to interact with. She'd be willing to spend time playing and lap sitting with everyone. By summer, Sienna will be the trim girl she should be and then will continue to need to have her food measured out for her always. Some cats just like to nibble and nibble, just as some people do.

Having a loving, attentive, people oriented cat around will make a home even more fun to come home to.

Here and there -

Noah is settling in well at Chuck and Don's in Highland. He was having a snooze in his hammock yesterday while the adoption was going on.

Noah is a busy fellow but not too busy to stop by for a bit of lap time as he makes his way around his foster home looking for a new game of chase or a particular toy to play with.

He'll be at Chuck and Don's through next weekend 2/27 & 28 so stop by and say hello.

If you're looking for a pair, Noah and Speedy are fostered together. They are not brothers but are about the same age, both in the 8-10 month old range.

Looking for a pretty, sparkly, intelligent, outgoing girl? Sonic might be the one for you. She is a medium haired gray and will be a year old this summer.

She is a girl who can open cupboards and drawers to find new playthings and who loves people - she has 3 teens in her foster home and loves the attention. She's also quite the snuggler so has a good mix of active and relaxed with you. Sonic also has another cat and a dog in her foster home and the 3 get along well together.

Sonic isn't as relaxed as Speedy is about appearing in public but she can be seen in her foster home where she is very comfortable. Not all women love to go shopping and Sonic is one of them!

Silas, big boy, big lover!

Silas loves to give hugs. And body rubs - he's one friendly guy! He also loves to be a lap boy - but you'll probably have to have a little cat hanging over the edge because he's a big fellow, long and tall.

Toys are great too -

Toy mice are to be caught and tossed in the air and caught again. Life is good when you have the right toys.

Silas says the bathroom sink is a great place to curl up for a nap or to wait for you to finish in the shower and come out and pet him again.

Silas has been in a home with a small dog, is ok with some cats but wouldn't mind being your only, best, feline friend!

While you're out and about this weekend, stop in at the Highland Chuck and Don's and meet Brooklyn. We think she looks a little like a nun, with her black head covering on. She's an outgoing and playful girl and has been in a foster home with another cat and an active small dog.

Two Adoptions, Sat. 2/6 and Sun. 2/7

We will be at the PetCo in Richfield on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

Sat. 2/6 from 11-1 p.m.

Sun. 2/7 from 1-3 p.m. - early enough to get home for the super bowl game!

Different cats each day, come and check out our felines. Most are teens (8-10 months) to 2-3 yrs. of age. All have different personalities and looks; some are introverted, some extroverted; some would like a quieter home, some a lively and busy home; some will liven up your home a lot, others will be a quieter presence.

Saturday:

Noah and Speedy will make their first appearance!

Speedy is playing with a straw from the guinea pig cage. As you might guess, he is a busy boy!

Noah is his buddy in games and they would make a good pair or go easily with another cat or kitten who likes to play.

Both Noah (brown tabby and white) and Speedy (black) also come for attention as they zoom through the house looking for a new toy. They'll mature to be nice lap kids.

Denny is another attractive (medium haired black smoke) and fun loving kitten.

Sadie would like to be owned by one or two women and have a quieter home. She's a bit of an introvert so it takes awhile for her to bond with you but then she is the biggest lover of all. Lap time and hugs are just what she wants.

Helen, Sapphire, Brooklyn, Riley, Jellybean (who must have a busy active dog in her life), Larry and Currie will be there also.

Sunday will see:

Ladybug - as you can see, she loves heights and also gets along very well with another young and playful cat!

Bijou, April, Sirocco, Peggy and Smokey Joe will also come and perhaps some others at either event.

Smokey Joe would like to live as an only cat, he thinks he's the top banana, but wouldn't mind if there was a respectful dog or two in the house.

Check out our website at PetHavenMN.org and look at the dogs and cat available for adoption. Ready about our cats at PetHavenCats.blogspot.com.

Poppy & Josephine

Poppy was adopted by a family who already had a torti - they get along well together and Poppy loves to snuggle under the covers at night.

Poppy came to Pet Haven quite shy and it took awhile for her to get used to another cat, a dog and teenagers in her foster family but she blossomed with all the attention she received and is a marvelous pet.

Josephine is the cat in the foreground and Poppy is behind her - the comforts of a warm radiator!
