Holly

Holly loves to go outside.  She sits patiently to get her harness on and the leash connected.  She supervises watering the flowers, checks out the squirrels and  chipmunks running through the yard and keeps her foster mom company when she is outside reading or working in the yard.

Pet Haven has  lots of friendly cats but Holly is one of the most willing to greet and make friends with anyone who comes to the home.  She likes to have them play with her and jumps up to sit beside or in their laps as soon as they settle down for conversation.

She also loves to keep here foster mom company around the house.  Need to wash clothes?  She'll come with you.  Need to change the sheets on the bed?  That's a great game!  Need to do some computer work?  She's right there to help with that also.

Adoption, Sunday, 9/21, 1-3 p.m. Richfield PetCo

Cats and kittens available for adoption!  Feline leukemia/fiv tested negative, up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed 2 times at least and treated for fleas or ear mites as needed.  We're at the Richfield PetCo from 1-3 p.m. at 66th and Lyndale Ave. S.

Buster is one of the handsome fellows who will be there.

Snickers is another brown tabby who is a great lap cat who enjoys lots of people time. He's curious and a pretty big fellow.  He is front paw declawed.

And, lest we forget the girls, Gerry is a beautiful medium haired tuxedo who loves to be pet and get tummy rubs, she's very playful. She's good with another cat who likes to run and chase but seems to be prejudiced against light, mainly white cats! She picks on them.

Playing with a cat dancer

Pet Haven still has lots of kittens as well as many wonderful adult cats looking for homes.  These three kittens all enjoy one another or would like another cat or kitten to play with.

Buster, brown tabby and white, Charlotte, gray tabby, and Kelly, black,  are all 'good buddies'.  There are other kittens in the foster home too so everyone has a playmate when they need one.  Nick says he is willing to play with a kitten too - they're not so bad.   Kelly could do well as an only kitten or cat, the foster thinks Buster needs another buddy to keep him company.  Taylor, Lacey and Lucy are also kittens looking for homes.  Anyone looking for a playtime buddy?

Baker and Widget - update

It's been 2 weeks and the kittens are through their first round of dewormings.  Finally, appetites are picking up and they are starting to gain a few ounces every day.  As they eat more, they are becoming more active too!  Life is fun for a kitten when it is safe and warm, fed and loved.  We're guessing they are about 7 weeks of age, Baker is still underweight for his age at only 1.5 pounds and Widget is approaching what she should weigh at two months at 1 pound 12 ounces.

Widget is the spark of the pair.  She is the bravest and first to try a new toy or explore a new part of the house.  She's a cute little minx and is perky and bright.

Baker is also feeling better and braver.  He was the thinnest and it has taken him longer to feel good but now he has the 'crazies' every so often too.  He also wants you to know he is the cutest!  He is very photogenic and thinks he might make a good model.

They've lost their baby blue eyes, they're more gray now, and their legs are just a little longer. They're still pretty little kids.

A new boy.

This boy is new to his foster home.  He spent over a year in another shelter, being overlooked time and again.  He was named Elvis when that group picked him up from impound because he talked a lot on the trip in the car.

What was his 'real' name?

What happened to his owner?

Did he get lost and was never found?

Were they tired of him and dumped him out the door?

The good news is that Big Red, as he is known now, has moved into his foster home and is fitting right in. His foster thinks she may be falling in love!

What does Red have going for him?

Age?  He's at least 8 yrs. old.  A boy young enough to love and old enough to know how to be a quiet companion.

Likes?  He loves a lap to snooze in.

Adventure?  He loves to have a harness and leash put on and be taken for a walk around the yard.

Dislikes?  He's a little big disturbed by lots of commotion and will scoot under the bed until things calm down.

The waiting game continues.  Has this boy found his forever home or is someone else going to come along and convince his foster that they would love him just as much and take every bit as good care of him?  Time will tell.
